Mrs. Madeline N Fowler was born on September 21, 1949 to Lucy Mae Webb (Wake Forest, NC) and her father Clarence Samuel Merritt (Winston-Salem, NC). She departed life on September 5th, 2023 at home. She was a graduate of Dubois High School, in Wake Forest North Carolina. She graduated from Salem State in Boston MA with Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education.
Madeline worked at IBM for 27 years and retired from the City of Raleigh. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was frequently asked to make her delicious sweet potato pies.
She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, serving in the Rolesville Congregation.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Lucy Haynes, Carolyn N Jones, Wondelin Denise Newsome Kinney; and her brothers James Newsome, Jerry Newsome and Steven Newsome.
She leaves to mourn her son Marvin E Fowler Jr of Knightdale NC (Tamika Jones-Fowler), Michelle Fowler of Wendell, NC; 5 grandchildren, Alaina Frances Conyers, Marvin Fowler Jr III, Major Fowler, Marlin Fowler, Ezekial Clarence Fowler; 4 Brothers and 3 Sisters Pastor Martha Hodge of Wake Forest NC, Elder Robert Newsome of Wake Forest NC, Larry Newsome of Raleigh NC, Darlene Newsome Chapel Hill NC, Charlene Tisdale(Melvin) Raleigh NC, Charles Newsome of Chapel Hill NC, Leonard Newsome Chapel Hill. And a host of nieces and nephews.
