Mrs. Kathryn Catlett Obituary

Kathryn Marie Catlett, born on April 2nd, 1965, at Lockbourne Airforce Base in
Columbus, Ohio, peacefully passed away at her home on May 21st, 2024, in Zebulon,
North Carolina. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Otis Saunders Sr., who she
loved dearly.

Kathryn was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, and beloved sister. She
is survived by her husband, Leamon “Bunk” Catlett, with whom she shared 15 years of
cherished marriage, her four children: Noah McEachern (Dayna), Indigo Geter-Saunders,
Aaron Saunders, and Halla Warner, her three siblings: Michelle Freeman (Greg), Otis
Saunders Jr. (Darlene), and Martin Saunders (Melissa), as well as her mother, Julia
Saunders. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Lucas, Olivia, and Rashid Jr.,
who brought her immense joy in her later years, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kathryn's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She served as a childrens usher at Jesus
House of Prayer, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many young
worshippers. She was also a mother of her church, offering support and guidance to
those in need.

Beyond her spiritual contributions, Kathryn had a green thumb and found solace in her
garden. She was a lady gardener who found joy in cultivating life and beauty from the
earth. Her love for nature extended to her love for music of all genres, which she
enjoyed listening to while tending to her garden or spending time with her family.
Kathryn was also a loyal Tar Heels fan, and enjoyed cheering them on any chance she
got.

An avid reader, Kathryn had a thirst for knowledge. She pursued her education at Saint
Augustine's University, where she honed her skills and nurtured her passion for lifelong
learning. She embraced new ideas and experiences with an open heart and mind,
enriching her life and the lives of those around her.

Kathryn was a dedicated employee of the North Carolina Sheriff's Association, where
she worked for 6 years and eventually became a Certified Instructor. Her commitment
to her job and her colleagues was evident in everything she did.

Above all, Kathryn cherished her time with family and friends. She lived by the words
“Choose Joy”, and always maintained a positive outlook on life. She loved to have fun
and create lasting memories with those she held dear. Kathryn's memory will forever
live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a
legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to inspire us all.
