Mr. James Winston Jr. Obituary

James Wilber Winston Jr. was born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Mary "Liz" Winston and the late James "Jake" Winston Sr. & later moved to Wendell, North Carolina, where he spent much of his upbringing. As time went on, he made Raleigh, North Carolina his home, where he remained for the rest of his life.

James was known for his outgoing personality and welcoming spirit. He truly never met a stranger. With a natural gift for conversation and an easygoing charm, he had a way of connecting with people from all walks of life. Whether through laughter, storytelling, or simply striking up a conversation, he could make anyone feel comfortable in his presence. Many remember him as someone who always had something to say and could talk for hours, sharing stories and perspectives with those around him.

A passionate sports enthusiast, james loved the excitement and energy of the game. He proudly supported the Tar heels, Dallas Cowboys , and LA Lakers. He enjoyed watching basketball while discussing plays, players, and the history of the game. Anyone who knew him knew he was truly a sports fanatic who knew his teams well.

Outside of sports, James enjoyed watching action-packed movies and had a creative side in drawing . He also took pride in his appearance and enjoyed dressing well. Looking clean, stylish, and well put together was something he valued, and he carried himself with confidence wherever he went.

Above all else, he loved his family and valued the relationships he shared with those closest to him. His personality, presence, and the memories he created with loved ones will forever remain in their hearts.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Kelia Williams; his son, James Winston III (Tre); his brother, Michael Winston; along with a host of aunts, cousins, extended family members, and friends who were blessed to know him.

Though he is no longer with us in the physical world, his spirit, laughter, and the memories he created will live on through those who loved him. His life reminds us that every journey is unique, and every person leaves a mark on the world through the lives they touch.

May he rest in peace, rest in power, and may his soul be forever free.
