Daniel Lee Colvin, Sr., affectionately known as “Boone,” son of the late Roy Colvin and Mae Bell Colvin, was
born on October 4, 1948, in Pender County, North Carolina. Daniel was married to Doris Ann Devane for 30
years, and together they raised and lovingly supported four children. He was preceded in death by his brother,
Roy Colvin, Jr., and his sister, Gwendolyn Clark.
Daniel spent the majority of his working years as an A+ mechanic and was widely known by family and
friends as a true “jack of all trades.” There was little—if anything—he could not do. Whether repairing and
painting cars, building projects, farming, or working as a logger cutting down trees, Daniel stayed busy and
took pride in his work.
Those left to cherish his memory include his ex-wife, Doris Ann Devane of Ivanhoe, North Carolina; two sons,
Daniel Lee Colvin, Jr. (Cynthia Vick) and George Ray Devane; two daughters, Laverne Devane and Angela
Devane; five grandchildren, Dr. Keauna Price (Travis), Roshetta Smith, Labryant Jones, Kigonnie McKoy
(Brian), and Monshawnda Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Ava Price, Austin Price, Dashaun McKoy,
Centavia McKoy, Dahmoni Boney, Demarcus McKoy, and Desmond Jones; one great-great-grandchild, Khari
Jones; two sisters, Linda Colvin and Sylvia Henry; his favorite niece, Dorinda Colvin; and a host of other
relatives and dear friends.
