Bobby Thomas Dunn, aftcionately known as "Coach BT,."was born on January 23, 1938, in Zebulon, North Carolina. He was the beloved child of the late Mr. Philmore and Ada Hunter Dunn. He peacefully transitioned into eternal life on December 23, 2025, at his home, with his beloved wife Hattie by his side. Bobby was a faithful, lifelong member of Wakefield Missionary Baptist Church. Even as his health declined, he remained committed to worship and fellowship, attending with the loving assistance of Deacon Greg Harris, Deacon Ellis, Taylor High, and other devoted church members. In recognition of his service and contributions, Bobby received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Governor of North Carolina. Bobby Thomas Dunn later married Hattie Jones- Gh'rael. Bobby leaves a legacy of love and understanding to be cherished by his loving and devoted wife Hattie and her family. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Betty Dunn, his son, Gary Dunn and step daughter, Kymbhali Gh'Rael. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Hattie Gh'rael of the home, children, Sonya Dunn and Bobby Dunn, Jr. (Tracy); step-children, Alief Gh'rael, Hassen Haseen, his brother, Leon Dunn(Alice); and his sister, Dianne Debnam (Henry). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dominick, Tikayla, William, Amir, Kharon, Elajja, Kierah (Rohan) and Caiyah, Jhmal, Ghrael and Cabral, his great-grandchild, Harper, daughters in law, Glorious Haseen and Trina Gh'rael, God daughters, Joyce Vick Harrison, Shante White, Sister/Friend, Mary Evans, Special Friends, Iona Johnson and Dannetta Dunn and a host of loving nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends, Bobby Thomas Dunn will be remembered for his dedication to family, his warm spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
